Skate Shoes - Early Classics

THE RANDY 720

The first ever skateboard shoe. Specifically designed appropriately to offer protection through turns and spins. This was the first step into finally proving what an essential piece of skateboarding the shoe has really became. By being put into the mass market across surf shops and also the first ever skate shop named 'Val Surf' - North Hollywood. Allowed the market ti finally appreciate the importance of foot protection.

Although the suede upper part did not wear well, it still laid down the fundamentals to skateboarding shoe design for the future to come.

VANS

When Vans came about their whole marketing technique was unique in the way the created and sold their shoes and brand. Making custom shoes, directly to the customer needs. Made to order, ready on the very same day. To start off with their were a number of styles, most have stayed around to this very day.

Up unitl the early 70's , the whole idea of wearing trainers in order to protect you feet and improve you skateboarding made people cautious, the whole roots of skating didn't quite fit in with this change. Vans made their mark on skateboarding history, epitomised a style and haven't changed that since they began. A true dedicator of skateboarding.
