Came across these interesting and extremely well put together covers of ' The Mayflower' dating to the late 19th century on tumblr. The overall composition and immense detail that has been created by the cover artist is almost overwhelming as to actually see, how hand rendered work defined an age for centuries. Yet today, digital technologies is left reliant on the sole function of design. That aside, this idea of creating intricate visuals is something I want to be able to produce, within some time realistically.
