What is Graphic Design ?

Thirty Days Of Night is an independent record company who regularly sign upcoming metal/hardcore bands. I have been following them for a few years now, ordering t-shirts and merchandise from their website. The artwork they use can vary from illustrative to simple, clear photographic design. Here are a few examples of posters they have promoted for a re-release of 2 great bands ep's.
